The Internet is no different from a stage. Authenticity is frowned upon in favour of entertainment. You can be a ‘train wreck’ as long as it’s fun to witness. It’s easier to default to a ‘jazz hands’ kind of ‘ain’t life grand’ falsehood because that’s acceptable.
